Happy Birthday Em

I feel old. I sat down this morning and tried to figure out how many birthdays Em has had. Today she's having another one. I'll let her tell you how old she is. Then I tried to find a picture of her without a child in it. That was nearly impossible. I'm so excited. It's Fun Faye Friday and Em has first dubs on free lunch. Come along if you like, just bring your own wallet. Hahaha

Someone invented the word sweetness after they met Emilyn. She is the the very definition of everything solid, kind, honest to the core, good and true. If I had to choose one word to describe her, I would have to choose the word "Charity." for that describes her nature best.  Serving and loving people comes easy to her, and it doesn't matter who they are.

The other day she called me up and told me she didn't have a kitchen. Her kitchen is under construction, she's getting new cupboards, new double ovens, lots of fun things, and now being without a stove, she needed to boil and color Easter eggs. "Can I come to your house mom," she asked. I was tickled pink!

After she arrived it was a fun day. When Em is around all the burdens of the day are lightened. From the time she is at my house until the time she leaves, I hear things like, "How are you mom?", "I'll do that for you mom.",  "Let me help you with that mom.", "Would you like me to do that for you mom.", or  "Oh, don't worry about that mom, I'll do that." Her giant heart is supremely generous. It knows no other way. It is her nature, her way of being, and it spills out of her as if it is uncontainable. Always caring for others...  always serving others... that is her trademark.

I had such an enjoyable day with her coloring Easter eggs. Since she has the largest family and lives the farthest away, those times are not near as frequent as I'd like. When she finally climbed in her van to go home, I was sad to see the day come to an end. And that's how I always feel when she heads home. Being with her is always a complete joy!

Well, Em... we love you. I love you! I'm lucky to have you for a daughter. I am blessed beyond measure. Thank you for always taking extra good care of me. I have the best kids. And you have always led the way in that.

Happy Birthday #1! Hugs... squeeze!

Yes, It's HERE!

When I got up this morning, I noticed there was a brilliance to the day I haven't seen before. I thought perhaps it was the clear sky, and the sun beaming down, but then I turned on my 3GS iPhone and truly saw where the glow was coming from.

There was clearly an aurora coming from the screen on my phone, more bright and brilliant than the noon day sun.

WHY??? Because it was displaying Apple's latest add.

Hold onto your seats! Wait, wait, wait for it.......................

THE WHITE iPHONE 4 IS  H E R E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One glimpse, left me gasping for air! I'm standing in ovation form. Straight as a stick! My hands are pressed together and clapping wildly! Be still my beating heart. Wipe up all that drool!

In case you haven't got a clue,  I've been waiting to facetime on a white iPhone 4 for what seems like eternity! (Evil laugh.) Now there is going to be a stampede. Yes, yes siree... because my 3GS is FOR SALE! Get in line little children, and hope you have lots of money! My head is tipped back now. Laughter is pouring from me.  There's going to be a fight. They'll all want it. Deserey is going to clammer like a stuck pig. Free is not in the cards Deserey. Hahahaha (more evil laughter.)

I've got to go now. Today I'm going to spend Man With A Drill's Money. (Chuckle, chuckle, what's new??? Thank you dear, I love you!)

Okay, so it has been FOREVER since I have posted anything on the blog and mom has been begging me to do an update. So, here is the Ellis family update.  You might want to get a snack and make yourself comfortable because it is a long one!
We had a great Christmas.  Lots of fun new things to play with.
Corbin got a Nerf Gun and Legos, Legos, Legos!
Eden was thrilled with her Polly Pocket roller coaster.
Kyle got a Playstation and he wasn't the only one that was excited about this gift!
Classic Eden--this is always how she sits and no matter how hard I try, those pants won't stay up!
What a crack up--literally!
Calico Critters are the cutest little toys on this earth!  Eden LOVES them!
Okay, so I bought my children rodents for Christmas.  I now consider myself to be the best mom EVER--or the dumbest-one of the two.  Eden has been obsessed with hamsters since the day she got a Zu-Zu pet.  It was Kyle's idea to get a real hamster for her for Christmas.  The lady I bought them from said that they really do better in pairs.  So, I got one for Corbin too.  Kyle wrote these awesome clues and sent the kids on a scavenger hunt to find their new friends--Speedy and Fuzzy!
Eden started taking a little dance class.  I thought it would be a good social thing for her to do.  Amy Fillpot started a little dance studio and teaches a few classes.  She is AWESOME with the girls and Eden says "teacher Amy" is her best friend in the class.
Here she is learning the "cuppy cake" dance.
We get to stay and watch the last 20 minutes of class every fourth week and it is fun and entertaining to watch the girls.  They will do their first recital in May and I can't wait to see it!
Eden went to a little daddy daughter dance with Kyle.  She loved it--especially the chocolate brownies that she got when it was over.
Corbin got this police station for Christmas.  This took me like 4 hours to put together!!!  I think I secretly love Legos as much as Corbin.  It has become one of my favorite things to do with him.
Love the hair Eden!
My turn to teach Corbin's little Preschool class.  I love Corbin's imagination and creativity.  I told them to draw a person in each window of the bus.  Notice the last guy--Corbin said he was late for school and this is him hanging onto the window as the bus drives away.
Okay, so every February my sister Emy and I look for these certain candy hearts.  They are similar to the classic conversation hearts that you see every year, but they are different.  They are NOT like the sweethearts either.  Well, we have not been able to find them for years until this lucky February!  I went to Target one day and saw these hearts called Sassy hearts.  I thought, "Could these be the ones we've been searching for?"  I only bought 2 boxes and when I got home and popped one in my mouth I was overcome with complete joy and excitement.  I immediately called Emy and told her the good news.  She went to Target that very day to get some!  If you haven't tried them, look for Sassy hearts when the Valentine's candy comes out next year.  They are the best!
Doesn't Eden look like a professional player?

Little Betty helping me make dinner.  She made us Taco Soup and it was Yum!
Mom, I am starting Eden out early on the pie baking.  She LOVES helping me bake things.  She made the berry filling and I helped her with the crust--delicious!!!

We began remodeling and repairing in January.  Here is a picture of where we now live.  We only moved a block a way, but there is a lot more room and we know the landlords really well:)  It took a lot of prep work to move into this place.  Lynn and I worked over here together for weeks and I really enjoyed that time we spent working on the house together.  I really appreciate all the extra helping hands and those who watched my kids too.  Your help was greatly appreciated in this big project!  New paint and carpet can do wonders for a home!  Emy, your cabinets are going to really make the kitchen look better.  I can hardly wait!
Lynn the master of all trades!  He textured the walls in the family room before we painted them.
 Little helpers!
Paint, paint, and more paint!
We began the process of moving in February.  Here is Corbin helping load up the trailer.
Eden wanted in on the helping too.  I love her funny faces!  Sometime I will post a storyboard of all of the different ones she pulls.  It will surely brighten your day and make you laugh!
Time to take a load over--we only moved a block away and  the kids loved riding on the trailer.
Helping Hands
Packed up everything in the house and Corbin and Eden loved decorating the boxes.  I agree with my mom--give a kid a cardboard box and it provides entertainment for hours.
Best Friends!
Eden became a sunbeam.  Three weeks after we moved into our new ward I got called to be her teacher.  She is so happy that I get to go with her to Primary each week.
The Cub Scouts salute and say goodbye to their Cubmaster--Kyle.  We really miss the Plain City 6th Ward.  So many good friends and good people.  We only moved a block away but had to change wards and even stakes.  We are now in the Farr West stake and we live in the center of Plain City--wierd.
Faster Grandpa!-My kids love to go to Bear Lake--summer or winter--anytime is a great time at the cabin.  Especially when cousins and aunts and uncles come too!
Corbin LOVED riding with Grandma on the sleigh.
 Can I drive Grandpa?
Eden wasn't a huge fan of the sleigh.  I think it was the snow flying up into her face.  She was a lot happier once Corbin got off and she didn't have to ride so close to the front.
Kyle took Corbin skiing for the first time.  He did great!
I loved watching the video footage of Corbin's ski day with dad!  He can't wait to go next year!

Fuzzy the Teddy Bear Hamster!  He has been a lot of fun!
Eden couldn't be happier with her new little friend.  She dresses him up and loves feeding him treats!
What in the world was I thinking!  Okay, so Speedy and Fuzzy were both supposed to be female hamsters.  Well, two days before these little things were born I picked up Speedy and thought, "she is unusually heavy."  Then I looked at her belly and screamed--NO WAY!!!  This is why I only wanted to get ONE hamster.  The lady that sold them to me said she was sure she gave me two females.  Well, was she ever wrong!  Three months later here we are with 7 new baby hamsters!
Maybe I was less than thrilled about the new additions to our hamster cage, but Corbin and Eden thought it was the greatest thing ever.  Corbin was mad that "Speedy" turned out to be a girl.  We told him she was a boy in the beginning.  Eden didn't seem to mind that Fuzzy was the one that was the boy.  She adores that fuzzy creature and it doesn't matter what kind of parts it has!
This is "Oreo" and he went to live with Emy and her kids.
 Eden loved the babies!

Corbin tried really hard to convince me to keep one of the babies and trade in Speedy for a real boy one.  Sorry, I told him that Fuzzy was now for both he and Eden to share.  We sold all the babies on KSL--including Speedy--the mom!  It was a happy day in my life:)
Happy Easter everyone!  I think my kids acquire more candy at east time than any other time of the year.  There are so many easter egg hunts and their buckets are filled multiple times.  Here we are at the annual hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Ellis' house.  I had to laugh as we pulled into the driveway and you could see all the candy and eggs out on the lawn.  Eden quickly said, "Grandma doesn't know how to hide them eggs very good."  That easter egg hunt was over in a matter of seconds!  The kids loved it and they all immediately came in to start counting their coins.
Don't forget about the Easter Egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Crowther's house.  Spencer was generous enough to give Corbin $5 because he didn't find any of the eggs with money in them.  Spencer, Corbin thinks you are the best kid around!!!
Eden could've cared less about the eggs with money.  Just give me all the chocolate Grandma!!!!  She spent her time looking for all the Reese's peanut butter cups:)  She had one full bucket when it was over.  She gave all her other candy to Corbin and kept all the chocolate!  Funny girl!
 Cute kids!
We gave everyone some exciting news for Easter!  Do you see what Eden's shirt says?
That's right!  We are adding another person to our little family.  I am 4 months along and we are having a boy!  Corbin is so excited that he gets to have a brother.  We took the kids to the doctor a couple of weeks ago to see the baby.  It was going to be a big surprise.  Dr. Bierer was pointing to the ultrasound and trying to show them where the head and the back and legs were.  Eden got a funny look on her face and said, "That just looks like a blob!"  After the appointment we dropped Kyle off at work and when we pulled in our driveway I turned around and Corbin had a devastating look on his face.  "What's wrong?" I asked.  "I just feel bad because I won't get to see him for a long time.  It takes FOREVER to have a baby!"  I had to laugh at that.
So, October 10th is the due date and we are super excited!  We need some more boys in the family!  Spencer and Corbin are definitely out numbered!
