We were sitting over at the swimming pool in Bear Lake enjoying ourselves when the news hit. Kelson discovered it first. "You won something Des!" The text message said. Then there was nothing but screaming and mass commotion. Des was hollering, "I won! I won!!!" "You won what? What, tell us, what?" We were trying to listen. "I sent in pictures of my shoes and a picture of me. I heard about this contest and I entered." She told us the whole story. 

We couldn't get to our phones fast enough. We were all scrambling to pull up The Hunger Games page. Yes, you can go there and see it yourself. Providing you are on Facebook. It took forever to load, since we were only on Edge, but then, sure enough, there was her picture. That cute little face she always makes, her hair all fashioned like Katnis Everdeen. And those shoes, those amazing, awesome shoes. And then we read the caption of how she was chosen as fan of the week, 289 comments and 5,396 likes as of today. 

We laughed as we read what kids had written. One girl said, "You can find those SHOES on Etsy." Another girl wrote. "She didn't make them because I have a pair." Then the next girl wrote, "You're a liar!" Someone else chimed in, "I looked everywhere. Those shoes are not on Etsy. Those shoes are legit! Way to go!!!" Then I loved the one that said, "I keep throwing money at the screen and nothing happens." And I can't leave out, "If I don't get a pair of those shoes right now I'm going to go dig a hole and cry in it the rest of my life." 

The complements went on and on. A plethora of excited teenagers saying, "I WANT THOSE SHOES, WHERE CAN I GET THOSE SHOES!!!" Des felt pretty great seeing how much everyone loved them, she was so excited. Proud as punch, we all are of her! The ultimate complement came from Jennifer Lawerence herself.  "I want a pair of those shoes," she said. Des messaged her back and said, "I'd love to make you a pair Jennifer, if I can deliver them in person."

So it's unanimous, your famous Des! She's making plans now for her new shoe business. And no doubt about it, you are the Hunger Games FAN of all time! We love you! Way to go darlin'! 

(Note to Des....Gavin wants Mt. Dew shoes, Kate already has her Winnie The Pooh shoes and so now all the other little girls want some too. I'm going to consider my choices, but I'll surely want some with a camera on them, as for dad Des, do not make him any shoes with teeth! You better get busy! Get in line family. Des is in the shoe business and as Missy said, "To heck with Toms, we'll be buying Desis! Woot Woot!!!)
