General Conference! Come And Watch!

As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we are encouraged to share the gospel to those we come in contact with each day. The very word, "Gospel" means good news, and yet, here I am, always so afraid to lift my voice and do so. I guess I am afraid of offending people. I don't want to make people feel uncomfortable. I certainly don't want people to feel that having a relationship with me is based on whether or not they are a member of my church. I love people! There are good people in all faiths! However, I guess all this uncertainty of how they would receive my openness to share the gospel is what keeps me from sharing.

Today I got on facebook and a cute friend of mine posted the quote below on her facebook page. Her invitation touched my heart in a way I can't describe. I thought about her age, I thought about her station in life, I thought about the courage it took to post her invitaion on Facebook, and to be honest with you, I was ashamed I had not taken the opportunity to be more like her.

So today I want to thank Karli M. For reminding me that gratitude is best shown by expressing my thankful heart in action! Make no doubt about it, I love my Savior. He lives! I love my Father in Heaven! He tends to me with a merciful heart! I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. It makes the biggest difference in my life and in my family. And today I extend an invitation to all to come and listen.

In closing, I leave you with my young friends wise words.

Let's Go! We're Burnin' Daylight!

Some one asked me the other day if I even have a blog anymore. 

I had to stop and think, "Blog," what's a blog?

This summer has been the busiest summer I've ever had. It's just been CRAZY!

A wedding, photography classes, a growing photography business, 

and a large family..... all have kept me totally consumed.

I am determined however. I love blogging. It's a visual journal for me.

Hopefully now that school is back in and the weather is changing things

will appear here more frequently!

This past weekend was Labor Day.

And therefore, the CROWS LABORED!

Since we were working outside the whole weekend, 

I thoroughly enjoy the lake from a distance. 

I enjoyed it with a paint brush in my hand! I'd stop for a minute, gaze at the Lake.....

Think to myself how beautiful it was and then go back to brushing. 

It really was a beautiful blue weekend!
The past few weeks there has been smoke in the air
from all the fires in Idaho.
So today seemed the bluest of blue.

Blue, that is...... and BROWN! Time to stain the cabin!

We built a BIG cabin for our BIG family!

But one great thing is a BIG family equals a Big workforce!

Many hands make for knocking things out fast!

I made sure the candy drawer was full.

You need sugar on a weekend like this!
And the pop pantry was FULL!

Man with a drill rented a lift!

It's a MAN lift. 

Men are just little boys in adult bodies.

Craig and Kyle said they were testing it.

uh, huh..... sure you are!

The kids love anything we do at the cabin. 

It doesn't matter if it's work or play!
They can't wait to come and they cry to leave.

Seth is annoyed that I am interrupting his progress.
Is that a smile Seppy?

Well, I've got to record the efforts of all.
It is my duty to annoy people with my camera!
Good work Kaedelly!
And by the way, that shirt looks to nice to stain in.

Baylee kept us under close inspection!

Awe.... a moment to rest, talk, laugh and joke.

Then, back to work!

I couldn't get over how fast things moved along.

Faces got happier with every darkened log!
Way to go Desi Lou! 

Luckily we were nearly done with the day when the storm rolled in.
It got so dark. And there was a lot of thunder.

We got a little rest and Monday the blue skies came back and we were right back at it.

Working together as a family is a unifying thing!
I love my family. Whether playing or working, makes no difference.
They're a FUN bunch!

Man with a drill had to work on Sat.
When he got to the cabin he stood by me and cried like a girl.
He was so overwhelmed to see what everyone had done in just one day.

During all this work, we even had a birthday.

The kids all wanted a ride in the boom.

"Go high," they all said! "Don't you dare let go," I said.

I couldn't watch. It scared me to death.
I could just see us being the next featured horror story on the news,
Kids fall off boom, stupid adults..... something like that.

Kyle ran a safe tight ship though.

What a blue sky!
The day was just stratospherically beautiful. 

No ride for you little man!

Gage and Missy decided to ascend into the atmosphere as well.

Everyone on the golf course wanted to know if they could borrow our lift.

Lots of fun!

Even Caleb giggled at it.

And the kids had to go over to K. and L's to have a trip down the slide.

Big Squint and Little Squint!

Even Kaedell took a turn at driving up in the air!
First she rode with me. I could only go half way and I got so dizzy.
I hate heights.
Kaedell said, "Get down Mom, I want to go on a fun ride."
"Make fun of me all you want Kaedell, I'm getting down!"

There's no place like Bear Lake!

It will forever be my sanctuary!

After all the rides,
Kaedell made a yummy peach dessert and we all sang to Doodle Bug.

Back to work.
Missy was not afraid of the ladder!

Kyle even found some logs that hadn't been chinked.

He chinked and stained all those hard to get to spots.

Man with a drill chased out a bat, then filled up his little home.

Sorry Bat, no free room and board.

As we finished up the day, Seth said he was the only one who

hadn't ridden in the the green machine. 

Gage took it up so high and stretched it out, even Seth got nervous.

Man with a drill and I have grateful hearts.

We want to thank our kids.

With every one's help we can have a place like this,

A place to play, work, and make memories.

A place to grow close and strong as a family.

After all that's what it's all about!

And for the small few who couldn't come,

next time dad and I will plan better.
