Thanksgiving & The Tree Cutting

Tradition
Handed Down,
A long-established or inherited way of thinking or acting,
A continuing pattern,

Something that grows fonder with each passing year.

Thanksgiving is rich with tradition
Like the building of the
Gingerbread houses.

Doesn't matter if you're young or old.

Eden resists the urge to eat her candy and continues decorating.

Every house gets it's own unique design.

Beno was pretty proud of his gingerbread man.

Goose raises the flag in honor of the day.

Dad cooked one turkey, I cooked the other.

Love all the helping hands!

With this crowd, we need every table.

Gavin shovels as the snow falls.

Several wild turkeys showed up at our door.
They were obviously unaware of what was cooking in our ovens.
All birds love us!
It's true.
Except for the one's we cooked today.

The moment we've all been waiting for ---lets eat!
My greatest blessing. . .
My family!

Everyone took a turn at expressing something they were supremely grateful for this year.

Mashed potatoes on your cup or on your plate is good.

And going back for seconds or thirds is the best part.
Thanksgiving was a fun day.

The day after Thanksgiving is the designated tree cutting day.

Bundle up!

This year the snow was deep and we had to walk a long ways.

This was one year we could have all used a pair of snowshoes!

Seth was happy to have a Haley by his side this year.
On Thanksgiving day when we we went around the table
and told what we were all grateful for
Seth said, "I'm thankful I'm finally getting married."

Good times

Always abound.

These are the ties that bind.

And the stuff that makes life rich!

One can never take too many pictures!

Giddy up dad!
When a horse isn't available dad will do!

Cute families

Pull Gav!

Eden has an expression for everything!

So does Corbin.

Deserey is happy
It's a right of passage, holding the saw in your hand,
Cutting down your very own tree!

Corbin and Spencer had fun exploring!

Togetherness, that's what it's all about!

Seth and Haley cut down their first Christmas tree.
Ali couldn't wait to help.

Anna and Des take a break while the trees are loaded for the ride home.

2010 Tree Cutting Expedition ---A huge success!
